The Historic Downtown is located in the center of Jersey City along the waterfront in New Jersey. The area is broken down into several neighborhoods such as:

Historic Downtown New Jersey

The area is west of the waterfront and is known for its various low-rise structures surrounding the downtown area. Within the center of downtown, you can find both Hamilton Park and Van Vorst Park neighborhoods with the distinct brownstones marketings bordering the square parks.

The neighborhood a part of Grove Street has experienced a lot of growth, and the area is full of businesses and eateries that appeal to the varied backgrounds of Jersey City's residents. Many cultural attractions can be found in Historic Downtown, including the Jersey City Museum, the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad Powerhouse, and the Harsimus Stem Embankment along Sixth Street, which is being converted into public parkland by a citizens' movement.

Waterfront

Jersey City's Waterfront, like Historic Downtown, is a historic district with a lot of new construction. Its located along the Hudson River surrounded by renowned buildings and landmarks such as the Goldman Sachs Tower, Liberty State Park, and the huge Colgate Clock.

Near the Goldman Sachs building, is the quaint neighborhood of Paulus Hook, which stretches across the waterfront and maintains a walkway for pedestrians. Over the decades both Paulus Hook and Grove Street have undergone major renovations, making the neighborhoods prime residential areas to reside.
