The Celebrity DUI / DWI Round Up is a monthly report covering celebrity DUI news throughout the nation, including recent drunk driving arrests, as well as updates on pending DUI cases involving celebrities.
But the point of the Celebrity DUI / DWI Round Up is not simply to recap the stories of recent celebrity DUI arrests. Instead, this monthly installment is meant to highlight the legal options available to individuals (whether celebrity or not) who have been arrested on intoxicated driving charges.
Too many individuals arrested on drunk driving charges decide to simply plead guilty to the charges against them without considering their alternative legal options.
At Levow DWI Law, P.C., our award-winning DWI defense attorneys have successfully defended the rights of many celebrities and non-celebs who have been arrested on DWI charges in the past.
We are dedicated to aggressively fighting for the rights of our clients and helping them to obtain reduced penalties, dropped charges and other favorable outcomes. Additionally, we pride ourselves on our ability to maintain our clients’ rights to personal privacy by keeping their names out of the media spotlight.
This month’s Celebrity DUI / DWI Round Up covers the story of a recent DUI arrest involving a rookie NFL running back, as well as updates on a DUI arrest that we covered in the past.
Jonathan Williams - the new rookie running back on the Buffalo Bills - was recently arrested on drunk driving charges in Arkansas.
Williams was driving in Arkansas on the night of July 14th, 2016 when he was pulled over by police officers.
According to reports, the officer on the scene suspected Williams of being intoxicated and administered multiple field sobriety tests including the standardized walk-and-turn test.
The rookie NFL running back allegedly failed the field sobriety tests and admitted to consuming alcohol before getting behind the wheel.
After refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, Williams was arrested on DWI charges and brought to the station for processing. He is due to appear in court during the month of August for the charges.
Williams was selected in the 5th round of the 2016 draft by the Buffalo Bills and is one of several running backs vying for the starting position this season.
Cole Hauser recently pleaded “no contest” to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol in the State of California.
Hauser, who is best known for his role as Carter Verone in “2 Fast 2 Furious,” was initially arrested on suspicion of DUI in April 2016 in Los Angeles, CA after being pulled over for reckless driving.
He appeared in court in July where he negotiated a favorable plea deal to avoid jail time.
As part of the plea deal, Hauser will have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle. Additionally, the actor received 36 months of probation, 10 days of community service and must participate in an alcohol safety program.
