Wedding Crashers star Vince Vaughn has been convicted of reckless driving in connection to a June 10, 2018 DWI incident in Manhattan Beach, California. On May 3, 2019, Vaughn’s attorney entered a plea of no contest to the single charge against his client in Los Angeles Superior Court. In agreeing to a plea deal, Vaughn evaded charges of DUI and disobeying a police officer, according to the Montreal Gazette.
Last June, Vaughn, 49, was pulled over at a DUI checkpoint in Manhattan Beach. Authorities say the actor refused on repeated occasions to exit his car, then failed a field sobriety test and a blood alcohol test. He was charged on counts of driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher and disobeying a police officer. Initially, Vaughn pleaded not guilty to the charges, but has now agreed to a plea deal in which the charges were reduced.
In exchange for his plea, Vaughn has been sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation. He has been fined approximately $1,700 and must attend an alcohol education class.
