At Levow Law, our New Jersey DWI lawyers love life in the Garden State. We're close enough to enjoy the special events Philadelphia has to offer, but we much prefer the slow, friendly pace of life you can find in Pennsauken. When the weather is nice, we like to partake in Pennsauken's variety of outdoors activities. Some of our favorite ways to spend a nice spring or summer day include:
When you're looking for a simple way to relax outside with your family on a nice day, one of New Jersey's many local parks is always a good choice. We enjoy taking trips to the Delaware Gardens Park in Pennsauken, where we can enjoy leisure activities such as:
Delaware Gardens is a simple park, but that's what we like about it. When all you're looking to do is relax outdoors in your community, the park is a great option.
The Pennsauken Historical Society works to preserve the history and culture of Pennsauken Township through various events, activities, restoration efforts, and more. The Burrough-Dover House is one of their most famous restoration projects. This home was built in 1710 and thanks to the PHS, you can view it today in a condition similar to its early days. In 1973, the Burrough-Dover House was named to the National Register of Historic Places.
The PHS also has a designated nature trail, which is of an easy difficulty and manageable for visitors of all ages.
Petty Island is located on the Delaware River and forms the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This island was recently donated to the state of New Jersey for environmental preservation, after being under the ownership of Venezuelan company Citgo. By 2021, state officials expect the island to complete renovations into a full nature reserve, which some hope could rival New York City's Central Park.
If you're an avid golfer looking for a country club to call home, we recommend Pennsauken Country Club. This club has been in operation since 1982, and offers an 18-hole golf course along with three practice greens. Come here to shoot a round of golf with family, friends, or colleagues, or to work on your game from the practice greens. These facilities are consistently maintained and kept in top condition for guests.
Some of the benefits of a membership with Pennsauken Country Club include:
The club is open to both residents and non-residents of Pennsauken.
Meadow Brook Park is one of our favorite green spaces in Pennsauken, especially after the sweeping renovations from 2015. What was already a pretty park became even more fun to visit after these changes, which were made by New Jersey's Green Acres program. Damaged playground equipment was repaired and replaced, new pieces were added, the tennis court was rebuilt, and a new beach volleyball court was installed. The park also features horseshoe pits, a shuffleboard court, and a pavilion, along with a dog park.
