What kid doesn't love a good petting zoo? If you're looking for a fun and educational family-friendly activity in the Parsippany area, we highly recommend making a visit to Brookhollow's Barnyard in Boonton. With a season running from May through October, there are all kinds of seasonal events held here throughout spring and fall. Our Parsippany DWI lawyers love taking weekend trips here with our families and enjoying the wide range of educational programming the barnyard has to offer. Some of the fun events that can be enjoyed here include:
Every summer, Brookhollow's Barnyard hosts five different four-day summer camp experiences with various themes. These camps usually begin running in late June and wrap up in late August. In 2018, themes included America the Beautiful, Pink Pigs, Pony Camp, and Under the Big Tent.
Additionally, the barnyard offers a camp called Speckled Chicks for kids 4-6, along with Spotted Cows for ages 7-10. Highlights of these camp experiences include time with farm animals, daily crafting, nature hikes, tractor rides, train rides, games, story time, and snacks. Every Friday, Brookhollow's supplies pizza for an end-of-the-week pizza party.
Brookhollow's Barnyard offers a unique combination of a zombie Halloween horror experience and a paintball game. In 2015, the barnyard began to hold Zombie Paintball Hayrides. Participants are given seats on a specially-fitted 20-gun hayride, where they can shoot at fixed targets, pop-up-zombies, and skeletons along the way. This experience is geared toward teens and tweens, but anyone is welcome to participate. This will be an especially fun time for fans of zombie video games, the Walking Dead, and other zombie-themed media. Taking out the scary creatures with paintballs is truly a thrilling experience. The Paintball Wagon is also available to rent for birthday parties at the barnyard.
Brookhollow's Barnyard makes a perfect setting for a big birthday party for your kids. They offer a few different options based on the size of your party, including Hoedowns for larger groups between 40-65 people, along with Shindigs for smaller 30-35 person groups.
A Hoedown party is three hours long and includes entry to the petting farm, use of the party area, a hayride, and a Moo Moo Choo Choo train ride. Shindigs take place in a tent next to the petting farm entrance and include entry to the petting farm, 1 borrowed bucket of animal food for each child, and an hour and a half of time in the tent.
